Violon graffiti

Yo Fellas, You’re about to meet Violon, a gifted french graffiti writer. Enjoy the skillz and go check his artwork here : Violon

For you, lucky guys, Violon wrote a little text about him and his vision of graffiti. peace!

My interest for graff started with a friend of my brother who used to tag a lot around 96 / 97 / 98. Gradually, I wanted to learn how to paint with a bomb, but only for tag: only the calligraphic side interested me.
Very quickly, I realized that it does not fulfill me and that I do not necessarily have enough energy to devote to tag. I started thinking about doing more elaborate things, but the previously mentioned buddy stopped painting when I put myself into it seriously … We still had the opportunity to do a fresco or two … I wanted to make letters (of course!) but also characters (a topless smurfette…) and an important work on the basics.
I kept investing myself in frescos, until I met OSRU, with whom I still paint. Humanly, it works, and also artistically, which is really rare. We like the same things, unpretentious graffiti, where painting is everything and where the ego is not the most important thing.

Violon and Orsu

To me, graffiti is taken too seriously, in general: Happily, there are people that make it more fun, like Jace, or GM.
I’m tired of the holy trinity, “letters, highlight, bubble”. Fortunately, there are people who make a difference, because otherwise we would still be watching “The sprinkler sprinkled” in the theaters, because it’s old school and we have to do the same that was done before.
Now, with Osru, we still paint together, we try to make our contribution, modestly, whether it is graffiti or not.

In terms of future projects, more walls, exhibitions coming soon and always move forward, with nice people.
