Graffiti styles Part 2 : Tag
Some of the most common styles of graffiti have their own names. A “tag” is the most basic writing of an artist’s name in either spray paint or marker. A graffiti writer’s tag is his or her personalized signature. It’s by far the most common form of graffiti. The tag is a stylized signature, normally done in one color. The simplest and most prevalent type of graffiti, a tag is often done in a color that contrasts sharply with its background. Writers often tag on or beside their pieces, following the practice of traditional artists who sign their artwork.
Next post will deal with the graffiti piece.
