Yo people, here’s a video graffiti clip of Eroné. Big up for the team.
This video clip, shot at the end of 2002 in the north of France, was an improvisation of the video artist Jacques Mora and the graphic artist Eroné. The camera, put on a rolling fridge, moved according to the artist’s inspiration and recorded him frame by frame. The total rush was 5 minutes long for more than one hour shooting, and the postproduction was begun only one year later. During the editing, done by Cédric Chabuel, the half of the rush was cut off and some illustratives shots were added. The music, signed by Le Marionnettiste, match perfectly with the picture.

PowerHouse Books is the publisher of the vandal squad graffiti book.

Here’s a definition of this marvelous and famous graffiti style named Wild Style.
The wild style graffiti is a form of graffiti involving, interlocking letters, arrows, and connecting points. These pieces are often harder to read by non-graffiti artists as the letters merge into one another in an often undecipherable manner. In Wildstyle letters are illegible, abstract, muddled and ornamental, legible only by initiated. It may include arrows, spikes, and other decorative elements depending on the technique used. The numerous layers and shapes make this style extremely difficult to produce homogeneously, which is why developing an original style in this field is seen as one of the greatest artistic challenges to a graffiti writer. The letters have been so transformed as to be rendered arcane to the eyes of non-graffiti artists. Wild Style is, according to many, the Queen discipline of the New York graffiti, the purest graffiti letters style that deserve most consideration.

He begins to paint in 1981, at first with a friend under the collective name of Blek. In 1992, he is condemned for a strong fine to the magistrates’ court for ” degradation of possessions belonging to others “. Since then, he does not paint any more directly on walls, but on posters which he sticks on the wall.
His paintings represent generally anonymous or famous profile life-sized.
Today his work influences thousands of urban artists all over the world and it is not surprising to find in London, New York City or Tokyo artists who claim to belong to his school. Among these the English artist Banksy: ” Every time I paint something, I discover that Blek The Rat already painted it 20 years ago.”
