After the incredible wall in Lisbon with Blu, the twins Os Gemeos strike again in New York with the legendary graffiti artist Futura.
Brazilian artists Otavio and Gustavo Pandolfo Os Gemeos and graffiti legend Futura have just completed an 80 feet high mural in New York, on the west-facing wall of P.S. 11, William T. Harris elementary school, in the Chelsea neighborhood. The project was driven by New York based creative studio AKANYC.
5 days of work for an amazing yellow giant mixing the style of Futura and the brazilian twins. The overall theme is a message of international unity. Os Gemeos iconic yellow character is adorned with flags representing countries around the globe.
Os Gemeos said regarding the flags : "We are using different flags painted with non-traditional colours. The idea is one world one voice, no borders, no separation, just everything and everyone working together for a single cause that is a better world."
"We want to open a dialogue with the city of New York and work with local and international artists to create a regular mural series that we believe will inspire and enrich the creative communities throughout the city," says AKANYC creative director Allen Benedikt
Check out the mural, and if you do reside in the city, you can drop by the spot and see how incredible is the piece.
