The Street Spot shares "The Community Serviced" Opening. Newspaper boxes galore.
Talented, prolific and all-around-excellent photographers Becki Fuller and Luna Park posted this article on The Street Spot, Monday, November 15th 2010.
Last night was a fun night filled with art, music, tattoos, video games, and even some Cirque du Soleil-esque contortionism. No, it wasn't just another night at a hipster bar in Williamsburg, this was "The Community Serviced", a show curated by Andrew H. Shirley which featured 12 uniquely produced Showpaper newspaper boxes designed by 24 artists. After the opening night, the works will be placed around the city to serve the community both as public art pieces as well as an expansion of Showpaper’s distribution network of their bi-monthly publication.
Here's to hoping that they last long enough!
